Day 1: Marrakech » Ouarzazate » via Telouet Ait Benhaddou (325Km)
On the first day of Marrakech to Fes 4 days desert tour, we will transfer from Marrakesh in the morning at about at about 8 am across the Tizi N’Tichka pass (the highset point in the High Atlas Mountains) to the traditional Berber village of Telouet for a guided tour of the Kasbah of El Glaoui, former War Lord and Pasha of Marrakech.
Then we continue the trip to Ait Benhaddou to visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a spectacular fortified village (Ksar). After that we will go ahead to Ouarzazate. overnight stay at hotel/riad in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate » via Skoura » Rose Valley » Boumalne Dades (117Km)
Today in the morning after breakfast in Ouarzazate we will start our journey with make a visit to the Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate then continue to Dades Gorge via Skoura and Rose Valley (Kelaa Mgouna) where, in spring, Berber children line the route selling garlands of fragrant roses. Leave the main route at Boumalne Dades to drive past ruined hilltop Kasbahs, valley-floor gardens and the strange rock formations of the Tamnalt Hills. Overnight stay at hotel/riad in Dades valley.
Day 3: Boumalne Dades » Todra Gorge » Merzouga » Erg Chebbi Camel Treks (253Km)
After breakfast at your accommodation in Dades valley, Transfer to Merzouga via the Todra gorges, the highest gorge in Morocco just 20m wide and over 200m high. The lunch will be in a town along the way. We continue the desert trip to the southeast via Erfoud. Arrive at the edge of the dunes with the option to overnight in a hotel or go camel trekking in Erg Chebbi, with a desert guide, and sleep in a nomad tent at a desert camp where your guide serves dinner under the stars, night in a bevouac (nomad tent).
Day 4: Merzouga » Ziz Valley and Cedar Forests » Fes (469Km)
Wake early to see the rising sun and then ride your camel back to Merzouga. Then depart for Fes via the Ziz Valley gorge and cedar forests where Barbary apes live – this is an interesting route with a stop for lunch in a Berber cafe.
